On my last blog note I talked about anchors and I still felt I
should include the words of this song.
It has meant a lot to me.

The Anchor Holds

1.  I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me

Chorus:
The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

2.  I've had visions
I've had dreams
I've even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand

3.  I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
These eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that's where God proved
His love to me

Our pastor was injured severely about 10 days ago and
we had a visiting minister who brought the message
this morning in church.

He preached about Joseph
when his brothers put him in the pit.

He stated that our relationship with the Father
determines if we will come out of the pit.

The Word says that God loves us even when
the circumstances say differently.

Our Father still loves us even though we do not see it
because of the circumstances.

Joseph kept the faith in the pit and when he was unjustly sent to prison.

Job kept the faith through the tragedies, the infirmities,
his wife’s telling him to give up and his “comforter’s” accusations.

Our circumstances do not determine our relationship with the Father.
We determine how we stand with Him.

Even in the midst of the storm, when the ship is battered
and the sails are torn,
if we are anchored to the Solid Rock, Jesus,
we can know
that our anchor holds
regardless of the circumstances.

  2. How beautiful is this Dear Mehrll!
Sounds like a good message from your guest speaker. I find Joseph to be such a faithful man. He is a great example to follow after.
May you be encouraged through the message and God's Unfailing Word.

    Blessings to you, Debbie
